Scholarship description

Established in 2016 by the New York Ramblers Soccer Club, the Ramblers Scholarship is the only award of its kind that supports undergraduate student athletes of all sports who are members or allies of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Ramblers Scholars receive a one-time scholarship paid directly to their college or university to cover tuition fees, with up to two scholarships of $2,500 typically awarded each year after the January 1 – May 1 application process. Applicants up to 22 years of age from across the United States are reviewed based on their financial need, LGBTQ+ advocacy, leadership in sports, academic excellence, and potential for impact based on their career goals and aspirations. If the application portal is not working, please send your completed application as a Word doc along with all relevant attachments to diversity@nyramblers.com. The annual application deadline is now May 1.

Letters of reference do not need to be sealed. While not encouraged, letters can be sent directly from references to diversity@nyramblers.com. If this is the case, please upload a simple Word doc for this requirement that states a reference was emailed.

Please include a copy of your transcripts (official or unofficial) in your application submission. While a minimum GPA is not requested for this application, transcripts help us confirm your status and academic standing.

The 2025 New York Ramblers Scholarship is operated by Ramblers Soccer New York and runs from February 1, 2025 to May 1, 2025. All students who are a least 16 years old and are permanent legal residents of the United States are eligible. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary to enter or win.
